When will the official notification for COP 19/CMP 9 be sent?

The Notification to Parties was sent on 11 September 2013 and is also posted on the UNFCCC website at the following link.

Is on-line registration open?

On-line registration opened on 11 September 2103 when the notification of the meeting was sent.  Please see following link.

Is there a deadline for registration?

For admitted IGOs and NGOs, the nomination deadline was Thursday, 16 September 2013. Organizations that nominated by that date have until Thursday, 7 November 2013 at midnight CET to confirm the representatives that should be registered by the secretariat to attend. For Parties, United Nations organizations and specialized agencies, registration is opened until the end of the conference.

Is there a limit on how many persons from each delegation?

For Parties and observer States to the Convention and its Kyoto Protocol, the delegation is determined by the respective government/Party.

How do I get a visa for Poland?

Information on visa procedures for Poland can be found on the host countries website.  Please consult the following link and carefully assess the information in order to be aware of the implemented policies.

I am a student/writer/scientist etc. and would like tot attend the sessions of the COP.  Please send me a registration form or inform me how to register.

In accordance with Article 7, paragraph 6 of the Convention, Parties to the Convention, United Nations organizations and duly accredited observer organizations may attend the sessions of the Conventions.  Consequently, conferences are not open to the public. 

Kindly convey your interest to participate in the Warsaw sessions through your government or to an accredited organization, which will be in a position to include your name as part of its delegation.  The list of National Focal Points for Climate change as well as accredited observer organizations can be found at the following link.

What is the dress code for the Warsaw conference?

There is no established dress code for the Warsaw conference.  However, participants may wish to visit the following link on the host country's website for more information regarding the weather in Poland at the time of the COP.

Where do I collect my Conference badge?

Upon arrival, you are requested to register at the Registration area located in the National Stadium in Warsaw from Saturday 9, November to Friday, 22 November 2013 during the opening hours indicated below.  A valid photo identification in addition to the fast-track pass generated from the online registration system should be presented to registration staff.

What are the hours of registration for the conference?

Registration will be officially opened at the Warsaw National Stadium from
Saturday, 9 November until Saturday, 16 November 2013, from 8.00 a.m. to 7.00 p.m.
Registration is closed on Sunday, 17 November 2013.
Registration re-opens on Monday, 18 November until Thursday, 21 November 2013, from 8.00 a.m. to 7.00 p.m and Friday, 22 November 2013, from 8.00 a.m. to 6 00 p.m.

Please note that for participants attending the pre-sessional meetings at the Palace of Culture from 5 – 8 November 2013, registration will be opened on 4 November 2013 at the Warsaw National Stadium from 9.00 a.m. to 6.00 p.m. 

Registration will be opened exceptionally on Friday, 8 November 2013 from 9.00 a.m. to 18.00 to facilitate registration of Observer Organizations.

To avoid delays, it is highly recommended that participants register on Saturday, 9 November or Sunday, 10 November.

Is there an official rest day for the COP?

What are the official dates for the high-level segment?

The High Level Segment will be held from Wednesday, 20 November to Thursday, 21 November 2013.  More information on the High Level Segment of COP 19 can be found on the notification page 15.  pdf-icon Please see this link.

How do I register my minister for the HLS?

Registration for inscription to deliver a stamen during the HLS can be done by completing the Registration form that was included in the Notification to Parties.  Please pdf-icon follow this link on page 15 and 16 for relevant information on the HLS.

Will transportation be provided for participants?

The host country has provided for free public transportation for all registered conference participants holding a conference badge.  All information regarding transportation can be found at the following links.

How do I make hotel arrangements for Warsaw?

Hotel arrangements for COP 19/CMP 9 in Warsaw are undertaken by the host country and are being facilitated by the company Warsaw Destination Alliance.  Please see below the link to the web page of the host country where you can find more information on hotel and booking procedures.

I need to ship material to the conference venue.  Please inform be how to go about this.

Is there an accredited car rental company to be used for Head of Delegations and official delegates of Climate Change Conference?
