Prior to your arrival
1. Visas
  • All foreign delegates entering France must have a passport which is valid for at least six (6) months. Participants requiring a visa for France, or a transit visa, are strongly encouraged to contact the appropriate consular authorities immediately. To facilitate the issuance of a visa, a copy of the acknowledgement letter from the online registration system (ORS) should be attached to the visa request.

  • Please note that the UNFCCC secretariat is not in a position to issue invitation letters for visa purposes. When making your visa application you may use the confirmation of your accreditation or the letter of assignment from your media organization.

3. Participation and registration

  • The Paris conference is not open to the public. Strict procedures apply for the nomination, registration and participation of individuals wishing to attend. For details please see here.
  • Badge issuance for Parties will be open from:
    • Saturday, 21 November to Friday, 27 November 2015, from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.
    • Saturday, 28 November to Friday, 11 December 2015, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
  • Badge issuance for NGOs and IGOs will be open from:
    • Sunday, 22 November to Friday, 27 November 2015, from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.
    • Saturday, 28 November to Sunday, 29 November 2015, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
    • Tuesday, 1 December, to Friday, 11 December 2015, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
  • On Monday, 30 November, the Registration Counter will be closed to NGOs and IGOs from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m and open from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m.
  • To avoid delays, it is highly recommended that you have your badge issued as soon as possible and before Saturday, 28 November 2015.
  • The location of the Registration Counter at the Le Bourget conference site is indicated on the pdf-icon overview map of the premises (1151 kB) .

4. Preparing for the Leaders Event and the High-level Segment

  • The President of France, His Excellency Mr. François Hollande, has invited all Heads of States and Governments to participate in a Leaders Event on 30 November 2015.
  • In addition, the conference’s High-Level Segment, to be attended by ministers and head of delegations, will take place on 7 and 8 December 2015.

5. Consignments and shipping

  • For sending consignments to the conference venue, please refer to the shipping guidelines in pdf-icon English (772 kB) and pdf-icon French (787 kB)
  • In support of the sustainability efforts to reduce the carbon footprint of the conference and minimize wastage of resources related to it, the total cumulative weight of your shipments/ packages may not exceed 150kg (or 200kg if you are renting an ‘area’ on a commercial basis) per Party and observer organization. Any surplus weight in excess of the allowance specified above shall give rise to an extra charge. The charge shall be equal to €0.80/kg excl. VAT, payable upon receipt of the package/ shipment.
  • In this context, an ‘area’ is defined as a clearly defined and delimited space, incorporated as such in the secretariat’s space allocation scheme and regardless of its size, where Parties and observer organizations showcase their achievements, products and services pertaining to climate change.
