On-Line Registration for COP 18/CMP 8 is opened
The online registration system (ORS) for Parties and Observers to register their attendance to the
forthcoming sessions of the Conference of the Parties to be held in Doha, Qatar, is now open.
While the formal notification of the sessions (including information on the High Level Segment and
other details) as well as the offer for funding to facilitate the participation of Parties eligible for
funding will be issued at the end of the month, the secretariat has decided to open the ORS earlier in
order to facilitate the compilation and organization of your respective delegations in advance in
accordance with your needs. The system also allows you to list your delegation in accordance with your
protocol.
Registration on-line is the only official channel to register participants for the sessions. The
secretariat is not in a position to receive nominations by any other method such as e-mails, letters
and faxes.
The user manual for the system is available at the following
link.
The manual contains complete information and guidelines on how to access and use the system. A help
desk is available at the following email address: onlinereg@unfccc.int
Please note that all participants are requested upon arrival at the Qatar National Convention Centre to
proceed to the registration desk in order to collect their badges to access the conference premises.
To avoid delays on the first day at the opening of the conference, it is highly recommended to
participants to collect their badges on Sunday, 25 November 2012. A valid photo ID in addition to the
acknowledgement from the online registration system should be presented to registration staff.
More information will be available soon.
IMPORTANT:
The government of the State of Qatar has implemented an e-Visa system to process the issuance of visas
for Qatar. This e-Visa system is a completely separate system from the ORS. Please visit the following link on the official
host government's web page for the conference to find out information on how to obtain a visa.
