Salt Lake City Green: Municipal Action on Climate Change

Implemented in 2001, Salt Lake City Green is perhaps the most comprehensive municipal environmental initiative in the United States. Salt Lake City Green includes programs to improve air quality, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and conserve natural resources. Salt Lake City Green also includes an aggressive Local Climate Action Plan to meet its goal for reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, according to the standards set forth in the Kyoto Protocol. Mayor Anderson's presentation will cover simple, innovative, and effective ways municipalities throughout the world can do their part to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and reverse the trend toward global warming.
