Interview with Maggie Zhou, Climate scientist, Massachusetts Coalition for Healthy
Communities
No money for climate debt? Need market mechanisms, offsets and commoditization of the commons
to fund climate solutions? But why are $$$$ trillions spent each year on military/wars
(similarly, also on bank bailouts), to secure oil and other resources, while powerful
countries' military emit more than most countries' entire emissions, and are also the
biggest source of environmental pollution, and of course, threat to civilian safety, in both
aggressor and victim countries? Don't military experts believe climate change will lead
to more, and further vicious wars? How do we stop both militarism/wars and climate change,
and shift the world from one of domination/aggression, to one of cooperation for the
planetary survival?
