    Travel to BonnTop

    Travel to Bonn There are many ways to get to Bonn, which can easily be reached by bus, train or car from the airports at Cologne/Bonn, Düsseldorf and Frankfurt.

    Trains coming from many cities in Germany and other parts of Europe stop at Bonn. Numerous highways complete the transport infrastructure.

    How to travel from the airports to Bonn From Frankfurt am Main airport:
    Participants arriving at Frankfurt airport should go to the Frankfurt airport long-distance train station, which is reached by following the signs to ‘Frankfurt Flughafen Fernhahnhof’ (Frankfurt airport long-distance train station).

    This station is in the AIRail Terminal, next to Terminal 1. Trains arrive at and depart from platforms 4 to 7. Participants are recommended to travel either by Inter City Express (ICE) train to Bonn/Siegburg or by direct train to Bonn central station (Bonn Hauptbahnhof).

    For more information, visit www.frankfurt-airport.de. High-speed ICE trains to Siegburg/ Bonn or Intercity (IC)/Eurocity (EC) trains to Bonn central station (Hauptbahnhof) leave from the Frankfurt airport long-distance train station two to three times every hour between 5 a.m. and 9 p.m.

    The high-speed train journey to Siegburg/Bonn takes 40 minutes. Trains leave at least once an hour. Alternatively the IC/EC train, also from Frankfurt long-distance train station, goes directly to Bonn central station (in the centre of Bonn). Travel time is between 1.5 and 2 hours.
    Second-class tickets for the ICE cost around 60 euros one way, for the IC around 40 euros. The ICE train can sometimes also be booked with your flight.

    Type in ‘Frankfurt Flughafen’ as the departure station and ‘Bonn HBF’ or ‘Siegburg’ as the arrival station. From Cologne/Bonn airport: Participants arriving at this airport can take a taxi or bus to Bonn city centre. Taxis are readily available; a one-way journey to the city cost between 35 euros and 40 euros. To get to Bonn centre by public transport, take the SB 60 shuttle bus, which goes from the terminal at Cologne/Bonn airport to the Bonn main train station every 30 minutes on weekdays and every 30 to 60 minutes on Saturdays and Sundays. The 25 km bus journey from the airport takes about 30 minutes. There is only one bus stop at the airport for the bus to Bonn. The bus stop is located at Terminal 1. When travelling to the airport, the bus stops at Terminal 1 (annex A).
    The price of a one-way bus ticket to Bonn is around 7 euros.

    Tickets may be purchased from the driver or at the ticket machine. The ‘conference ticket’, which is included in the price of the accommodation if the booking is made through the Bonn Tourism and Congress Office, may be used for this bus.

    From Düsseldorf airport: If arriving at Düsseldorf airport, take the sky train to the train station Düsseldorf Flughafen (about 10 minutes). From there, direct trains leave every hour directly to Bonn main train station. For train departures, check on the German railway site: http//www.bahn.de/i/view/GBR/en/index.shtml. Type in ‘Düsseldorf Flughafen’ as the departure station and ‘Bonn HBF’ as the arrival station.
    For more information on Düsseldorf airport, visit www.duesseldorf-international.de. Visitor information Journey time into the centre of Bonn is about 30 minutes. Tickets can be purchased on the tram (U-Bahn), if not already included by booking your room via our recommended link. A one-way journey by taxi from Siegburg to Bonn costs approximately 30 euros.

    Currency: 1 euro = approximately USD 0.937 (indicative rate as of 20 February 2017).

    Meeting room assignmentTop

    Meeting rooms may be booked, availability permitting, free of charge for a closed meeting, for a maximum duration of 1 hour per Party/Organization.

    Meeting rooms are available every day from 8 a.m., with all such meetings required to finish by 8 p.m.

    Meeting room requests may be sent via e-mail to meetingrequest(at)unfccc.int, as of 10 April 2017.

    The MRA team will track your meeting room assignment request, but you will only receive notification/confirmation closer to the session (approximately beginning 2 May 2017).

    As of Monday, 8 May (official start of SB 46 sessions), meeting room assignment request forms will no longer be accepted by email. From this time, they can only be handed in at the Information/Meeting Room Assignment (MRA) Counter in paper form.

    The Information/MRA Counter is located on the ground floor, after passing security check on the left hand side of the WCCB. Availability and location of your meeting room will be confirmed in the evening of the day before your meeting date.

    This information can be obtained from the Information/MRA Counter. It is also recommended that you re-confirm room availability for your meeting with the staff at the Information/MRA Counter shortly before the start of your meeting, as changes in room allocation may occur due to the needs and demands of the negotiation process.

    ConsignmentsTop

    You may claim your consignments at the Information Counter, located on the ground floor after passing security check on the left hand side of the WCCB.

    Please make available all relevant shipment documents (Airway bill) and information’s.

    Opening hours: Sunday, 7 May 2016 from 10:00 hours to 17:00 hours Monday, 8 May to Thursday, 18 May from 09:00 hours to 18:00 hours.

    Food and beverages are not permitted inside any of the meeting rooms; however, catering can be arranged in the Club Lounge, reception-style.

    The organizer must coordinate with the caterer to ensure that all food and beverages are served either in the Club Lounge or outside the meeting rooms. It is the responsibility of the organizer to ensure that the Club Lounge or the meeting room and the surrounding areas are left in good order for the next reception or meeting.

    Coffee and Snack Points are located on the Rhine level and in the Club Lounge in the main building and in the plenary building.

    Snacks and beverages will be available from 7:30 a.m. until 9 p.m.

    Lunch is available in the main building and in the restaurant of the plenary building and is served from
