Bonn Climate Change Conference - April 2010

The eleventh session of the Ad Hoc Working Group on Further Commitments for Annex I Parties under the Kyoto Protocol (AWG-KP 11); The ninth session of the Ad Hoc Working Group on Long-term Cooperative Action under the Convention (AWG-LCA 9). Friday, 9 April to Sunday, 11 April 2010

The first sessions of the AWG-KP and AWG-LCA in 2010 will focus on the organization of work of both working groups this year, including the need for additional meeting time, with a view to reaching a successful conclusion of their work at COP 16 /CMP 6 in Cancun.

The above-mentioned sessions were preceded on 8 April by preparatory meetings of the Group of 77 and China, the African Group, the small island developing States and the least developed countries.

• Opening press conference

  The opening UNFCCC press conference of the second round of Bonn UN Climate Change Talks in 2010 will take place on Monday, 31 May at 13:15 CEST at the Bonn Maritim hotel (Salon Haydn, second floor), following the morning plenary. The briefing with UNFCCC Executive Secretary Yvo de Boer will be webcast live, as will all other press conferences during the meeting.

  Press conferences will be held in Saal Reger in the Hotel Maritim

  Media must be accredited to attend the press conferences.

  Those journalists who cannot follow the press conferences on site will be able to watch them via webcast.

  • All participants are requested to register upon arrival at the desk located at the Hotel Maritim.
  • A valid photo ID should be presented to the registration staff.
  • Early registration is highly recommended to avoid delays.

  Wednesday, 7 April until Sunday, 11 April, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  
  Double registration for the sessions is not permitted (i.e., State representative and observer organization representative, or state representative and press/media representative).

  BadgesTop

  Badges are essential in order for participants to gain access to the premises. They are issued only on the basis of accreditation by the UNFCCC secretariat. For security reasons, all participants are requested to wear their badges at all times.

  VisasTop

  All foreign delegates entering the Federal Republic of Germany must have a valid passport. Participants requiring a visa for Germany, or a transit visa, are strongly encouraged to contact the appropriate consular authorities as soon as this invitation is received. The issuance of a visa for the Schengen States may take up to two weeks from the date of submission of the visa application. To facilitate the issuance of a visa, a copy of this notification should be attached to the visa request.
