Press conferences
Requests for press conferences can be handled on-site at the Meeting Room Assignment desk. Media must
be accredited to attend the press conferences. Those journalists who cannot follow the press
conferences on site will be able to watch them via webcast.

The deadline for accreditation for the next meetings of the AWG-KP 16 and AWG-LCA 14 in Bangkok (3-8
April 2011) has now passed. Applications received by Wednesday, 30 March 2011 will be processed.
Bona fide representatives of the national and international media can apply for accreditation to the
conference. Only one accreditation is required and will cover participation in the sessions of both ad
hoc working groups.
Members of the press who already hold a valid accreditation to ESCAP will be "fast tracked"
for approval. ESCAP accreditation should be indicated When completing the online form.

- All participants are requested to register upon arrival at the desk located in UNESCAP.
- A valid photo ID should be presented to the registration staff.
- Early registration is highly recommended to avoid delays on the first day of the sessions.
Registration times:
Wednesday, 30 March 2011 to Saturday, 2 April 2011 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Sunday, 3 April until Thursday, 7 April from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Friday, 8 April from 8 a..m. to 6 p.m
Double registration for the session is not permitted (i.e. State representative and
observer organization representative, or state representative and press/media
representative).
Press badges issued at previous UNFCCC conferences do not remain valid. Members of the press must be
accredited for each meeting.
Badges are essential in order for participants to gain access to the premises. They are issued only on
the basis of accreditation as a media professional representing a bona fide media organization.
For security reasons, all participants are requested to wear their badges at all times.

The UNFCCC secretariat is not in a position to issue invitation letters for visa purposes. Accredited
media may use their confirmation message when making their application, as well as the letter of
assignment from their media organization.
Hotels
Participants are responsible for making their own accommodation arrangements.

participation. The United Nations and the Convention secretariat disclaim all responsibility for
medical, accident and travel insurance, for compensation for death or disability, for loss of or damage
to personal property and for any other costs or losses that may be incurred during travel time or the
period of participation.
In the interest of security and safety of all participants and the smooth development of the sessions,
the Convention secretariat reserves the right to deny and/or restrict access to the conference
premises, or to request registered participants to leave the premises. The Convention secretariat shall
not be responsible for any or all expenses incurred by nominated participants who are requested to
leave the premises, refused registration or access to the sessions for which they have been nominated
and/or registered as participants.
