Accra, 24 to 27 August 2008

The Media Training Workshop seeks to raise awareness of the climate change issue and the UNFCCC process among the media, especially those from developing countries. The workshop is made possible through support of the Government of Denmark and the World Bank, and with the cooperation of UNEP, UNDP, UNCCD, IEA and WBCSD, and, the UNFCCC secretariat. The venue of the workshop is in the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC) on the ground floor "media information section" in the press conference room (meeting room, no.4 ). All media on location are invited to attend the workshop, subject to availability of space.

The topics that will be discussed at the Accra media workshop comprise the science of climate change, the history and present status of UN climate change negotiations and issues relating to the central building blocks of the Copenhagen agreement which will follow on the first phase of the Kyoto Protocol.

The workshop proceedings will be webcast on the internet "live" and on "demand". The webcast presentations and documentation are distributed for educational purposes only.
