Media Training Workshop

Accra, 24 to 27 August 2008
The Media Training Workshop seeks to raise awareness of the climate change issue and the UNFCCC
process among the media, especially those from developing countries. The workshop is made possible
through support of the Government of Denmark and the World Bank, and with the cooperation of UNEP,
UNDP, UNCCD, IEA and WBCSD, and, the UNFCCC secretariat. The venue of the workshop is in the Accra
International Conference Centre (AICC) on the ground floor "media information section" in
the press conference room (meeting room, no.4 ). All media on location are invited to attend the
workshop, subject to availability of space.
The topics that will be discussed at the Accra media workshop comprise the science of climate change,
the history and present status of UN climate change negotiations and issues relating to the central
building blocks of the Copenhagen agreement which will follow on the first phase of the Kyoto
Protocol.
The workshop proceedings will be webcast
on the internet "live" and on "demand". The webcast presentations and
documentation are distributed for educational purposes only.
