Activities Implemented Jointly (AIJ)


UNIFORM REPORTING FORMAT

At the fifth session of SBSTA, Parties, recalling decision 5/CP.1, decided to adopt the uniform reporting format for activities implemented jointly (AIJ) under the pilot phase SBSTA noted that methodological work and the increasing experience in AIJ are likely to require future revisions of the uniform reporting format and decides to keep the format under regular review.

The SBSTA at its seventeenth session recommended the revised uniform reporting format for activities implemented jointly under the pilot phase for adoption by the Conference of the Parties at its eighth session (FCCC/SBSTA/2002/L.2/Add.1).

The conference of the Parties at its eighth session adopted the revised unifrom reporting format. The COP Urged Parties involved in activities implemented jointly under the pilot phase to submit reports using the revised uniform reporting format. The COP noting that reports on activities implemented jointly may be submitted at any time, decided to change the frequency of the preparation and consideration of the synthesis report on activities implemented jointly under the pilot phase from annual to biennial.

The COP further decided that the deadline for submission of reports on activities implemented jointly under the pilot phase, to be considered in the seventh synthesis report, shall be 1 June 2004.
