Flexible queries

This page provides access to a number of flexible queries, i.e., to user-defined data queries. This option is intended for advanced users and it offers the maximum flexibility in searching and retrieving the data, such as GHG emissions/removals, activity data, implied emission factors, population and GDP.

The flexibility of the query is provided mainly through setting of two modes: page item and cross tab.

Generally, there are 5 main steps that a user needs to go through to conduct a query and access data on this interface.

  1. Decide what sort of data and layout that you want
  2. Accordingly change the layout by clicking on the "Change Layout" button
  3. Click "Show Item Selection" button to do the multiple selections
  4. Select desired fields in the page item and cross tab area
  5. Click "Go" to access the data.

This section provides explanation on different important features of the GHG data interface.

On clicking the "Change Layout" link, the user is provided with the page that allows changing the layout for query. The example of screenshot is provided here. With the illustrated layout, the user will be able to do a single selection for fields under Page Item (Category, Classification, Type of Value, Gas and Unit) and multiple selections for fields under Cross Tab (Party and Year).

The fields required for multiple selections should be placed in the cross tab area from the page items. This can be done by clicking on one of the two arrow buttons on the right side of each field.
