Abstract
The Report presents the inventory of greenhouse gas emissions in the Republic of Uzbekistan in 2000 and also the review of the GHG emissions trends for the period 1990-2005. The emissions and removals in 2000 are given in the tables 1 and 2 for gases and sectors identified by IPCC (Annex 1 and 2) and also in the Sectoral Tables (Annex 3). The trend for each sector is provided in the relevant chapter. Inventory comprises the following direct greenhouse gases: carbon dioxide (CO2), methane (CH4), nitrous oxide (N2O), hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs) as well as the indirect greenhouse gases, such as carbon monoxide (CO), nitrogen oxides (NOx), non-methane volatile organic compounds (NMVOC) and sulphur dioxide (SO2). To recalculate emissions into СО2 equivalent in accordance with the recommendations [1] the global warming potentials were used: for СО2 -1, СН4 -21, N2O -310. In accordance with the IPCC methodology and the standard IPCC software the greenhouse gas inventory was conducted in 5 sectors. The sector “Solvent and Other Product Use” was not considered due to lack of the calculation method.
