Abstract This initial communication includes national circumstances, GHG inventory, expected impacts of climate change, mitigation and adaptation options, and any further steps taken by Egypt to deal with climate change. Also it presents the research gaps and needs related to the science of climate, impacts of climate change, increasing awareness, and policy oriented research
