This technical paper presents a summary of the views submitted by Parties and admitted observer organizations relating to modalities and procedures for financing results-based actions and considering activities related to decision 1/CP.16, paragraphs 68-70 and 72. It covers the range of financing options identified by Parties and admitted observer organizations, the key substantive elements that could be relevant for the development of modalities and procedures and lists issues that may require further exploration. This paper is intended to serve as input for the workshop on the same subject matter that will be held during the informal sessions of the Ad Hoc Working Group on Long-term Cooperative Action under the Convention, on 30 August-5 September 2012 in Bangkok, Thailand.
