The Subsidiary Body for Implementation (SBI), at its thirty-fourth session, invited Parties and relevant organizations to submit to the secretariat, by 15 August 2011, further views and information on the following themes to be addressed in the work programme:
(a) Assessing the risk of loss and damage associated with the adverse effects of climate change and the current knowledge on the same;
(b) A range of approaches to address loss and damage associated with the adverse effects of climate change, including impacts related to extreme weather events and slow onset events, taking into consideration experience at all levels;
(c) The role of the Convention in enhancing the implementation of approaches to address loss and damage associated with the adverse effects of climate change.

The SBI requested the secretariat to compile these submissions into a miscellaneous document to be made available by its thirty-fifth session. The secretariat has received 17 such submissions. In accordance with the procedure for miscellaneous documents, the nine submissions from Parties and four submissions from international organizations are attached and reproduced in the languages in which they were received and without formal editing. In line with established practice, the four submissions from non-governmental organizations have been posted on the UNFCCC website
