Abstract

1. The Subsidiary Body for Scientific and Technological Advice (SBSTA), at its thirty-eighth session, invited Parties to submit to the secretariat, by 19 February 2014, their views on the implications of a possible revision to the eligibility of lands as clean development mechanism afforestation and reforestation project activities during the second commitment period of the Kyoto Protocol. The SBSTA requested the secretariat to make the submissions available on the UNFCCC website and subsequently compile these submissions into a miscellaneous document for consideration at SBSTA 40.
2. The secretariat has received one such submission. In accordance with the procedure for miscellaneous documents, this submission is attached and reproduced* in the language in which it was received and without formal editing.
