Abstract
The Subsidiary Body for Scientific and Technological Advice (SBSTA), at its thirty fifth session, recognized that the Global Framework for Climate Services (GFCS) is an important initiative to underpin science-based adaptation and to support countries in meeting the challenges of climate variability and change.1 It invited the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) to provide, at the thirty-seventh session of the SBSTA, information on the outcome of the Extraordinary Session of the WMO Congress that was held in October 2012 with respect to GFCS implementation. The following submission has been received from WMO in response to the above invitation. In accordance with the procedure for miscellaneous documents, this submission is attached and reproduced in the language in which it was received and without formal editing
