Outcome of the World Meteorological Congress Extraordinary Session 2012 with respect to the Global Framework for Climate Services implementation. Submission from the World Meteorological Organization.

The Subsidiary Body for Scientific and Technological Advice (SBSTA), at its thirty fifth session, recognized that the Global Framework for Climate Services (GFCS) is an important initiative to underpin science-based adaptation and to support countries in meeting the challenges of climate variability and change.1 It invited the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) to provide, at the thirty-seventh session of the SBSTA, information on the outcome of the Extraordinary Session of the WMO Congress that was held in October 2012 with respect to GFCS implementation. The following submission has been received from WMO in response to the above invitation.
