The Subsidiary Body for Scientific and Technological Advice, at its thirty-fifth session, invited Parties and admitted observer organizations to submit to the secretariat, by 28 February 2012, their views on issues identified in decision 1/CP.16, paragraph 72 and appendix II, in particular on how to address drivers of deforestation and forest degradation and on robust and transparent national forest monitoring systems as referred to in its paragraph 71(c). It requested the secretariat to compile the submissions from Parties into a miscellaneous document for its consideration at its thirty-sixth session FCCC/SBSTA/2011/5, para. 21). The secretariat has received 15 such submissions from 13 Parties. In accordance with the procedure for miscellaneous documents, these submissions are attached and reproduced in the language in which they were received and without formal editing. The two submissions received from intergovernmental organizations and the nine submissions received from non-governmental organizations have been posted on the UNFCCC website
