Summary report on topics covered at the workshops on mitigation of climate change. Note by the secretariat.

After considering the Third Assessment Report of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, the Subsidiary Body for Scientific and Technological Advice (SBSTA), at its eighteenth session, decided to initiate work on two new agenda items: scientific, technical and socio-economic aspects of impacts of, and vulnerability and adaptation to, climate change; and scientific, technical and socio-economic aspects of mitigation. To facilitate its consideration of these agenda items, the SBSTA conducted three in-session workshops on mitigation, one each at SBSTA 20, 21 and 22, and a pre-sessional workshop before SBSTA 19. The SBSTA, at its twenty-second session, requested the secretariat to prepare a concise report on the topics presented at the in-session workshops held to date
