Abstract
This note provides information on methodological issues relating to accounting of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from international aviation and maritime transportation. It draws on emissions data submitted in 2002 by 29 Parties included in Annex I to the Convention (Annex I Parties) for international aviation and by 25 Annex I Parties for international maritime
transportation, and information from two expert meetings organized by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and the International Maritime Organization (IMO) in consultation with the secretariat. This document contains proposed elements for future work to improve the estimation and reporting of GHG emissions from international aviation and maritime transportation
