The 7th meeting of the reconstituted Consultative Group of Experts on National Communications from Parties not included in Annex I to the Convention (CGE) took place in Accra, Ghana, from 17 to 19 September 2012. The CGE considered the progress on the implementation of its work programme between April and September 2012 and the organization of its activities for the remaining period of the year. It also took stock of activities implemented under its work programme for 2010-2012 and assessed the major achievements and lessons learned in implementing its work programme. This report summarizes the outcome of the discussions of the CGE at its 7th meeting. It also includes recommendations that could be useful in further enhancing the effectiveness of the provision of technical assistance to Parties not included in Annex I to the Convention (non-Annex I Parties) for the preparation of their national communications and in addressing the specific needs resulting from new reporting requirements for non-Annex I Parties under the Convention
