The Conference of the Parties, by its decision 10/CP.2, requested the secretariat to make available to the Subsidiary Body for Implementation (SBI), at each of its sessions, details of the financial support made available to Parties not included in Annex I to the Convention (non-Annex I Parties) from the interim operating entity of the financial mechanism for the preparation of their initial national communications. This information is to cover projects proposed by each Party, the funding decision, and the date and amount of funds made available to the Party (FCCC/CP/1996/15/Add.1). The SBI, at its tenth session, asked the secretariat to request the Global Environment Facility (GEF) Secretariat to make available the dates of disbursement of funds for enabling activity projects for the preparation of initial national communications by non-Annex I Parties (FCCC/SBI/1999/8, para. 32 (b)). The attached information provided by the GEF Secretariat shows the dates of disbursement. Projects listed in the attached table are classified as projects approved under expedited procedures, full projects approved under standard procedures, and projects covering limited components of first national communications from non-Annex I Parties.
