expert group (LEG), to be nominated by Parties, with the objective of supporting the preparation and
implementation strategy of national adaptation programmes of action (NAPAs).
The COP, at its sixteenth session, reviewed the progress of the work and terms of reference of the expert
group, decided to extend the LEG for five years. Under its current term
(2011-2015), the LEG mandate includes the provision of support to LDCs on the NAPAs, the LDC work programme,
strengthening gender-related considerations and considerations regarding vulnerable communities within LDcs,
and considerations of medium- and long-term adaptation, in particular the national adaptation plan (NAP)
