Action for Climate Empowerment at COP 21/ CMP 11 - Events and Activities

The twenty-first session of the Conference of the Parties (COP 21) took place from 30 November to 11 December 2015 in Paris, France. During COP 21/ CMP 11, Action for Climate Empowerment (ACE) - which is the new name of Article 6 of the Convention - organized a variety of events and activities related to climate change education, training, public access to information, public awareness, public participation and international cooperation as well as youth. Young and Future Generations Day COP 21 ACE Webpage Young and Future Generations Day, 3 December 2015

Young and Future Generations Day on 3 December provided an opportunity to showcase youth climate action around the world and gives young people a platform to engage with decision makers, stakeholders and others active in combating climate change. During that day, the Action for Climate Empowerment (ACE) team organized various side events, including the Intergenerational Inquiry, Mini Side Events, and interviews at the Climate Change Studio. On 4 December, climate change education (CCE) was a particular focus at COP 21. During the day, a number of events and activities covering CCE issues took place, including a roundtable with Ministers of Education from different countries who presented a Ministerial Declaration on Education for Sustainable Development. In addition, the UN Alliance on Climate Change Education, Training and Public Awareness as well as other UN agencies organized side events on formal and non-formal CCE. More>>

Youth_COP21_webpage Other Activities for Youth at COP 21

COP 21/ CMP 11 provided a platform for a huge variety of different side events and activities related to climate change education and youth. During the conference, for example, Action for Climate Empowerment (ACE) organized High Level Youth Briefings and set up a UN Youth Booth. The 11th Conference of Youth (COY 11) was held in Paris prior COP 21. More>>
