Action for Climate Empowerment at COP 23/ CMP 13/ CMA 2 - Events and Activities

The twenty-third session of the Conference of the Parties (COP23) will take place from 6 to 17 November 2017 in Bonn, Germany. During this time, an interactive agenda for the implementation of Article 6 of the Convention (Action for Climate Empowerment (ACE)) and Article 12 of the Paris Agreement will be available. A variety of events and activities related to climate change education, training, public access to information, public awareness, public participation and international cooperation, as well as youth will be organized. Image Young and Future Generations Day, 1st week of COP23

The Young and Future Generations Day will take place during the first week of the COP. This day will provide young people with an opportunity to present youth climate action from around the world and provide a platform to engage with decision makers, stakeholders and others who are active in combating climate change. Image Education Day, 2nd week of COP23

During the second week of the conference, an entire day will be dedicated to Climate Change Education (CCE). A number of events and activities covering CCE issues will take place, including a high-level event on education. This event will bring together environment and education ministers and international organizations, to discuss how education can enhance the implementation of the Paris Agreement and the SDGs.
