Map showcasing video submissions to the Global Youth Video Competition 2016



This year's map represents all 180 entries into the annual award ceremony "Global Youth Video Competition on Climate Change & Film4Climate Global Video Competition," a collaboration between the UNFCCC, the UNDP GEF-Small Grants Programme and The map is part of the Youth Climate Report film project that has been providing a voice for global youth to the COP climate conferences since 2011. The map was created by Mark Terry, a PhD candidate at York University in Toronto, Canada, as a digital archive of global youth initiatives and climate research.

On Young and Future Generation Day, 10 November 2016, at COP22 in Marrakech, Morocco, the two young winners of Global Youth Climate Change 2016 were recognized at the award ceremony of Global Youth Video Competition 2016.

The video "Think Renewable" by the young Tunisian Faouzia Bahloul is about the need to increase the use of renewable energy and it explains the research she has been doing on biogas produced with the help of microalgae. Meanwhile, in his video entry, Phuong Vu Hoang talks about the vulnerability of Vietnam to climate change and explains how he deploys his graphic design skills to make posters to inform the public about more sustainable lifestyle choices.
