United Nations Secretary-General's Climate Change Support Team
Recognizing climate change as “the defining issue of our time”, Secretary-General Ban
Ki-moon has made addressing climate change among his top priorities as UN Secretary-General. The
Secretary-General is actively:
- Supporting governments to build a new legal climate agreement by 2015. Education, training and
awareness are important elements for supporting the new agreement;
- Promoting action on the ground that educates the public on climate change causes and solutions,
and helps empower citizens - including youth - to make an impact in the fight against climate
change;
- Through his Climate Change Support Team, developing of a number of education and public
awareness activities.
