Similar to a press conference, four 30-minute events provided an opportunity for the invited speakers to make a short intervention followed by by questions from youth. The press was also invited to the events. Press advisory were distributed at the media center for each event.
Briefing 1: Expectations for COP 15 Negotiations

Content: The Chairs presented the main components of the negotiations on “future climate agreements” and expected points of contention.
Briefing 2: Update - State of Climate Science

Content: Dr. Pachauri discussed the linkages between climate science and COP 15 negotiations and responded to various quesitons from the audience.
Briefing 3: Growing Together in a Changing Climate: The United Nations, Youth and Climate Change

Speaker: Ricardo Lagos, Special Envoy of the United Nations Secretary General on Climate Change, former President of Chile.
Content: Dr. Lagos provided a reflection on the United Nations, young people and climate change.
Briefing #4: Looking Forward: Planning Towards COP 16

Speaker: Mr. Adrian Fernandez, President, National Institute of the Ecology - INE
Content: Dr. Fernandez discussed participation issues and next steps towards COP 16. This event initiated a dialogue between the host government and the youth civil society to ensure smooth participation at COP 16.
Intergenerational Inquiry Side Event (Young and Future Generation Day (YUFUGE), 10 December, 13:45 to 15:00
 
The secretariat coordinated the Intergenerational Inquiry side event featuring Mr. Yvo de Boer, UNFCCC Executive Secretary; H.E. Mohamed Aslam, Minister for Housing, Transport and Environment, Maldives; Ms. Alicia Montalvo Santamaría, Director General, Ministry of Environment, Climate Office, Spain; Ms. Bridgette Cindy Makhubedi, UNICEF Climate Change Ambassador, South Africa; Ms. Ruchi Jain, youth representative, India; and Mr. Thomas Spencer, youth representative, Australia.
At this event, young representatives chosen by their peers engaged other participants in a dialogue and testify on their actions and plans to respond to climate change
