Are you impacted by climate change in SIDS? This new UNDP report looks at integrating gender in disaster management in SIDS:
Impacts of climate change are not gender neutral. The effects of climate change will vary between women and men. Women in poor developing countries who secure water, food and energy for cooking and heating are directly affected by climate change induced droughts.
To help poor Small Island Developing States become more resilient, the UNDP released the report "Integrating Gender in Disaster Management in Small Island Developing States: A Guide" to help provide Caribbean and Pacific countries with practical guidance on how to make gender considerations, for both women and men, integral to their disaster preparedness and response, which helps build resilience by mainstreaming adaptation measures for Small Island Developing States as well.
