CC:iNet addresses the six key priorities that the Convention identifies as vital for enabling people to
contribute to climate change solutions.
Education at the primary and secondary levels will ensure that today’s young
people fully understand the challenges their generation is expected to face in the decades ahead.
Training together higher education will provide the technical skills and advanced knowledge
needed by climate change professionals.
Successful public awareness campaigns will engage communities and individuals in the common
effort needed to carry out national and international climate change policies. Ensuring public
participation in decision-making and public access to information will provide people
the tools and opportunities they need to play a more active role.
These five elements can all be strengthened through international cooperation.
Governments and organizations can support each other with resources, ideas and inspiration for developing
programmes that can make a real contribution. CC:iNet is committed to facilitating such support.
