AWG-KP Workshop on potential consequences

Mandate: The AWG-KP, at the second part of its sixth session requested the
secretariat to organize an in-session workshop on potential consequences at the seventh session of the AWG-KP
under the guidance of its Chair (
FCCC/KP/AWG/2008/8, para. 55 (b)).
Objective: The objective of the workshop will be to discuss relevant work under the
Conference of the Parties and the CMP and to exchange information on issues identified at the resumed sixth
session including: evidence of actual impacts and consequences of tools, policies, measures and methodologies
available to Annex I Parties; positive and negative potential consequences; how the causes and effects of
potential consequences can be assessed; and possible approaches to group actions that lead to these potential
consequences.

Organization: The workshop will be divided into four segments as follows:
1. Introduction and welcome
2. Presentations by Parties on the issues identified above
3. Presentations by international organizations on the results of relevant technical analyses
4. Discussion
