Background

The 8th NWP Focal Point Forum (8 FPF) was held in Lima, Peru, during the 41st session of the Subsidiary Body for Scientific and Technological Advice (SBSTA 41). It was attended by over 70 focal points from NWP partner organizations and delegates from Parties.

The Forum was structured around two segments:

The first segment included brief interventions on: (i) the status of the implementation of work under the NWP; (ii) good practices and lessons learned on adaptation planning addressing the issues of ecosystems, human settlements, water resources and health, and for linking national and local adaptation planning (informed by a synthesis report of submissions); and (iii) a pdf-icon collaborative action pledge (28 kB) made under the NWP.

The second segment was interactive and conducted by BBC Media Action, a NWP partner organization. The session focused on the adaptation knowledge gaps, and on how these can be prioritized and responded to, through effective communications.

Further details of the Forum is included in the pdf-icon summary note (319 kB) .
