| Description
|
The Internal Displacement Monitoring Centre (IDMC) was established in 1998 by the Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC). It is the leading international body monitoring internal displacement worldwide. At the request of the United Nations, the IDMC maintains a database providing comprehensive information and analysis on internal displacement in 50 countries. Based on its monitoring and data-collection activities, the IDMC advocates for durable solutions for IDPs and conducts training activities to enhance the capacity of local actors to respond to the needs of IDPs. |
