| Description
|
The Norwegian government established CICERO (the Center for International Climate and Environmental Research – Oslo) by royal decree in 1990. CICERO is an independent research center associated with the University of Oslo. CICERO conducts research on and provides information and expert advice about national and international issues related to climate change and climate policy. CICERO has a staff of around 90 persons, 60 of them academic staff, with 7 IPCC Coordinating and Lead Authors for the AR5 in Working groups I and II. CICERO produces research on 1) Scientific basis of climate change; 2) Mitigation and costs; 3) Impacts, vulnerability and adaptation; 4) International agreements and policy instruments and 5) Climate and Development. |
