Action Pledge
|
|
|
|
The Action Pledge is based on a range of climate risk and adaptation projects in the semi-arid tropics of
Sub-Saharan Africa and Asia. These collaborative projects focus on mitigating the impact of
current and future climate-induced production risk and improving the livelihood resilience of farming
communities in the semi-arid tropic of Africa and Asia. They contribute to both sub-themes of the
NWP. ICRISAT projects aligning their work with the NWP include:
- Making the best of climate: Adapting agriculture to climate variability
- An aflatoxin risk early warning system to improve nutrition, health and income in west African
smallholder farms
- Legume diversification in tobacco systems. Climate risk and market opportunities
- Building adaptive capacity to cope with increasing vulnerability due to climate change”
- Managing uncertainty: Innovation systems for coping with climate variability and change
- Managing risk, reducing vulnerability and enhancing productivity under a changing climate
- Vulnerability to climate change: Adaptation strategies and layers of resilience
- Community management of crop diversity to enhance resilience, yield stability and income generation in
changing West African climates
