Action Pledge
|
|
|
|
LI-BIRD provided information on its work and on its activities relevant to the Nairobi work
programme.
The action pledge highlights three relevant activities:
NGO group in Nepal
The aim of this activity is to raise awareness amongst key development NGOs on climate change and
development issues by establishing a group of such NGOs who meet regularly and carry out joint
activities. LI-BIRD will assist the NGO forum/group in its activities.
Climate Change Information Resource Centres
The aim of this activity is to increase access to materials on climate change for use by civil
society actors and students thereby enhancing learning and sharing among civil society organizations
on climate change issues.
Building resilience of communities to the adverse impacts of climate
change The aim of this activity is to reduce vulnerability of poor and marginal
communities to the negative impacts of climate change on agriculture. LI-BIRD aims to implement and
strengthen climate change adaptive measures and strategies at community level through action research
and development intervention, to increase awareness on impact of climate change at different levels
and to influence government programmes and policies supportive of actions towards climate change
adaptation.
