Impacts Database
Description
The impacts database is a web-based database of climate / weather-related impacts as reported in
the media. It enables the user to assess the impacts of a particular climatic event thereby
enabling them to plan for future events of its kind.
Appropriate Use
The tool is useful in assessing what impacts may result from extreme weather events. It is not for
use in distinguishing whether a particular weather event was a result of climate change.
Scope
The majority of impacts documented in the impacts database are UK-based. However, there are certain
instances of impacts outside of the UK.
