CLIMWAT 2.0
Description
CLIMWAT 2.0 is an extensive climatic database of more than 5,000 stations worldwide which is directly
linked to the irrigation model AQUACROP. The combination of both allows users to calculate crop water
requirements, irrigation supply and irrigation scheduling for various crops for a range of
climatological stations.
Appropriate Use
CLIMWAT, in combination with AQUACROP, can be used for planning and management of irrigated and
rainfed agriculture.
Scope
Global, agricultural sector.
Key Output
Climate data: maximum and minimum temperature, mean daily relative humidity, sunshine hours,
windspeed, precipitation and calculated values for reference evapotranspiration and effective
rainfall as input data for AQUACROP.
