Building climate resilience inn transport and telecommunications systems in New York City

Many urban economies, infrastructure, services and citizens depend on reliable energy and transport systems. Building climate resilience in energy and transport and telecommunications systems is for vital regional, national and international supply chains, supporting crucial services for human well being and livelihoods. Adapting these systems to the impacts of climate change, including hot days, storms and sea-level rise poses many challenges (IPCC, 2014). The project "A Stronger, More Resilient New York” is a comprehensive plan towards rebuilding communities impacted by Hurricane Sandy, and increasing the resilience of infrastructure, including transport, utilities, and telecommunications, as well as buildings citywide.
