Description

As part of Stanford University's Center for Integrated Facilities Engineering, we research policy and engineering responses to climate-change impacts on seaports. We focus on complexities and strategies of planning for future impacts of sea-level rise and changing storm intensities on coastal infrastructure. In particular, we have been pursing four major themes:

1. Development of an estimate for the global construction’s capacity to respond to sea-level rise;

2. A global survey of ports authority perceptions around adaption;

3. Decision support systems to model and understand impacts and adaptation strategies on a local level;

4. Case studies of seaport decision-making systems.
