Description: The Programme of Research on Climate Change Vulnerability, Impacts and Adaptation (PROVIA) responds to the urgent call by the scientific community for a more cohesive and coordinated approach, and need to harmonize, mobilize, and communicate the growing knowledge-base on vulnerability, impact and adaptation. The overarching objectives of PROVIA are to advance research on vulnerability, impacts and adaptation related to climate change, and to coordinate and facilitate the dissemination and practical application of this research for the benefit and value of society. PROVIA will be working through a partnership involving WMO, UNESCO and UNEP to identify key knowledge gaps, coordinate resources, and convene the scientific community and necessary expertise to fill such gaps.
PROVIA's reasearch activities relates to all sectors above, and all aspects of human activity, specifically identification of research priorities in all of the above areas. |
