This session will provide a brief overview of the Adaptation Committee’s (AC) previous work on technical support on adaptation to developing country Parties, including an introduction of the AC’s proposal to create a partnership platform with regional centres.  Information will be complemented by an overview of technical support activities undertaken by relevant partner organizations of  the Nairobi work programme on impacts, vulnerability and adaptation to climate change (NWP), including the  perceived gaps.

Speakers representing regional centres and networks will introduce different modalities of collaboration, highlighting areas and gaps of technical support to developing countries and the type of collaboration that was created to address these gaps.

Building on the previous presentations, participants will be invited to exchange further experiences and views, responding to one or more of the following questions:

• What existing gaps should a new partnership platform fill and how can it add value?

• What are the incentives to participate in a new partnership for national, regional and international organizations?

• Which modalities are used and could be used to channel requests for technical support from the country/ies to the centre/network, how is the response fed back, and have these modalities been effective?
